Yeah, it did. Yeah! That's exactly what I'm saying! The Ace that fought WB here looks like he would curb stomp BB. Ace should've just speed blitzed BB and used Observation for follow up attacks or in case of counter attacks. I mean, BB is strong and all but it's been emphasized he's careless/reckless. Get's injuries that could've been avoided. Also too cocky as seen with WB. Even a half dead WB was enough to almost kill him.

Plot device I guess. *Heavy Sigh*. I seriously think Boichi should do another if he has time. Maybe a Blackbeard episode. Maybe. Becos there are so many plot holes with Blackbeard we still dun understand. Additionally, Ace was the 2nd Division Commander one which has not been filled for at least 20 years since Oden Kozuki came along. It rather odd considering he was combat capable, not to mention...then again Blackbeard's devil fruit took everyone by surprise. Given most circumstances, the fight could be ruled as a non-surprising one. Blackbeard is one of the most combat capable before his escape from WB's crew, while Ace is equally combat capable due to his fruit, the most likely scenario would have been a draw, and the next scenario was BB's crew tying Ace up. While Ace had no one to support him, thus led to his downfall.

Now that BB has two fruit he is sad to say the most dangerous villains, unless one takes advantage of his weakness so to speak his inability to read the room correctly, so to say his inability to estimate his opponents correctly.

Boichi only adapted what was in the Ace Novels. There's no right between BB and Ace there since Oda already drew it. I do like the idea of a draw, kind of. But like you said, he doesn't seem to fully grasp a opponents powers which leads to careless injuries which makes Ace superior imo. Tbh, he shouldn't have lost. But oh well.
